Looking for fun things to do in Mumbai? Check the list below

The capital of Maharashtra and the City of Dreams, Mumbai has a lot to offer to its visitors. With a plethora of exciting activities and places, you will never get disappointed on your visit. There is so much to do and so much to witness that you will be spoiled for choices while in the city. My stay in Palolem would never have been complete without visiting the metropolitan close by and so on a weekend, I along with three of my mates, decided to go to Mumbai. Finding temporary accommodations in Mumbai is not much of a deal since there are many online hotel booking portals. Thus, we booked our stays at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and we were set to leave for the city of dreams. Once there, we were excited to try out the prime adventures the city has to offer and we ended up finding some great indulgences. Listed below are some of the fun things that you should definitely try while in Mumbai.
Explore the calmness by Cycling at midnight
This is one of my favourites. Travelling through a brightly lit metropolitan city at midnight is a fantasy for many and in Mumbai, it became a dream cum true reality for us. Good quality cycles along with head and knee gears are available at reasonable rates and the trips are conducted under various professional trainers and coordinators. We got our equipment and paddled our way through the city and discovered various hidden alleys, old houses, heritage buildings, shops and many other places in broad daylight. Since there is a limited number of slots, you will have to book in advance for the trip. Refreshments are served to ease hunger pangs while riding and you will also have the liberty to stop at random kiosks for quick snacks.
Opt for a Day Out at Sun Beach Resort
Sun Beach Resort at West Borivali is a pristine location on the shore of Gorai Beach. The activity packages are available at attractive per head rates and once you book any one of those, luxury is all yours. The only thing you will have to do is reach the place on your own transport. The package includes a scrumptious breakfast with a plethora of assorted juices, followed by a trip to Gorai Beach. Volleyball, beach basketball, rain dance, indoor play zone are some of the attractions which you can try before lunch. With uniformed waiters at your service and tables laden with deliciously aromatic delicacies, the lunch with this package is simply to die for. Choices for non-vegetarian and vegetarians are available in abundance, thereby ensuring a good experience for everyone.
Witness the Bollywood Studio in Mumbai
Technically a home for Hindi movies and also a major reason for the city being referred to as the ‘city of dreams’, Bollywood radiates the immense glamour, glitter, and stardom that we witness on our televisions. A trip to the Bollywood Studio is inevitable when exploring Mumbai. There are mainly two packages dedicated to tourists who want to explore this location, one restricted within the premises and the other provides a pickup-drop facility. The trip lasts for four hours and will give you a glimpse of this vast Bollywood world. Live shoots are conducted here and therefore, you can enjoy the dance performances and the acting of your favourite celebrities and keep yourselves entertained throughout. If your luck is in favour, you might also end up clicking a selfie with the eminent superstars of Hindi cinema. The tour as a whole is conducted under a guide who takes care to explain the intricate details and ongoings of the studio. Light refreshments are a part of the package and are provided at regular intervals. Guests are expected to maintain silence while in-set tours to avoid disturbing the crew.
Experience the largest slum in Asia
Mumbai, being a dreamland, is also home to Asia’s largest slum, Dharavi. You can take a tour of this place between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and learn about the slum people and the adjustments and compromises they have made to be accepted the way they exist. Several local industries have come up within Dharavi and it is amazing to notice how these industries flourish without sophisticated machines or a huge capital. Life at Dharavi is different compared to the rest of Mumbai city and availing of their tour package will tell you why and how it is so. Additionally, you will also get to witness the art walls, the pottery industry and the artificial leather industry of this place. Purchasing from here is also a viable option since the products last longer and are available at economical rates.
Consider this list on your next tour and engage in these fun activities to make the most out of your Mumbai trip.
